| In the Beginning.....
As everyong knows, the Soviet Union, led by Russia, was the first country to put a satellite into orbit around the Earth and the first to orbit a human being around the Earth.
The Soviet space programme morphed into the Russian space programme when the Union broke up in 1993 and has continued in a robust manner ever since.
This section only touches the surface of history but its pages chronicle what might be some of the more interesting events.
