| The table lists all launches by China under the name Yaogan. They have used a range of different launch vehicles and have been launched from both Jiuquan and Taiyuan.
Yaogan seems to be a name to cover satellites having an imaging mission with a government or military purpose. Some seem to carry optical payloads and others carry radar. There are also some launches into orbits very like the US NOSS satellites. They probably have an ocean reconnaissance ELINT or SIGINT payload.
For the satellites in sun-synchronous orbit, looking at the orbit heights and inclinations together with the descending node local time gives an indication of related missions.

Imaging satellite (possibly carrying a synthetic aperture radar) for natural resources surveys and, possibly, intelligence gathering. Specific tasks include land survey, crop yield assessment, and input to disaster monitoring and prevention plans. Broke into eight fragments 2010 Feb 4, around 07:00 UTC as the result of a minor internal explosion probably due to equipment failure. |

Remote sensing satellite described as undertaking land resources surveys and crop yield estimation. However, its purpose may be ocean surveillance similar to the US NOSS triplet formations that orbited at a similar altitude and inclination. The ground track lies 75° to the west of Yaogan 9 (2010-009A/36413) so it surveys a similar area about five hours later. Precise launch time - 04:06:04. |

Imaging satellite for natural resources surveys and, possibly, intelligence gathering. Specific tasks include land survey, crop yield assessment, and input to disaster monitoring and prevention plans. The launch vehicle upper stage was not catalogued as it was caused to re-enter, probably over the southern polar region, after releasing the satellite. |

|
Radar Earth imaging satellite aimed at sun-synchronous orbit with LTDN 06:00. Lost when the launch vehicle third stage malunctioned. Referred to as Yaogan 33 in Chinese launch announcement in what may have been a bureaucratic error as the name was subsequently re-used in a later launch of a different design of satellite. |

Reported to be a remote sensing satellite monitoring the electromagnetic environment - a description that may indicate it has an electronic intelligence gathering rôle. One of three related satellites carried on the same launch. They will operate in a triangular formation separated from each other by about 120 km. - a similar formation to the lower inclination Yaogan 31 satellites. |
